Week 7 Day 1

Note:  I want to keep this experience real in the event anyone stumbles across our little cobweb on the internet and doesn't just want to see the "yay progress" pictures, but wants the real ups and downs of how this process works.

They always say start with the bad news, so we'll go there first. Our downstairs has hardwood floors in all the rooms except the foyer and half bath.  (Que tile flooring eyeroll from the Mrs.)  Post installation there was about 1/2 a box of hardwood flooring left.  This was reiterated over and over in several meetings, when the remodeling company owner and production manager came to the house they saw what we had, they discussed where it would be needed, all is good.  Except apparently it isn't.  So now our lead carpenter (bless him) is on the hunt for flooring to match what we have because (surprise) ours is discontinued.  So hardwood flooring work that should begin on Thursday will now happen sometime next week.  We hope.

On to the good stuff.  Base cabinets are 95% installed and countertops have been measured.  I wish I had taken a picture of the guy measuring for the countertops because they use this cool computer measuring machine that gets exact measurements including if there are any bows in the wood so that when they bring the countertops they should fit like a glove.  Fingers crossed!  (Glove, fingers...hahaha.  I am so punny.)

Most of the cabinet doors and drawers have been installed in the island.  The open spot above is where the microwave will sit.

One of my favorite drawers in the kitchen.  Finally the knives will all go away and the knife blocks can go rest in that big building in Tukwila.
