Week 7 Wrap-up and Week 8 Programming Notes

There are no updates to bring for Week 7 Days 4 and 5.  The lead carpenter was here a partial day on Thursday, but then took the rest of the week off to spend time with his elderly father which is much more important than my timeline for a construction project.  Lest anyone ever tell you differently, human life, especially that of family is more important than any "thing", even if that thing is the kitchen we so desperately long to use again.

Ok, that out of the way, week 8 should see the following:

• Completion of cabinet installation.  Unfortunately one panel was sent incorrectly so a rush has been put on it. Fingers crossed it arrives quickly!
• Electrical trim work (outlets, switches, new floor outlets in living room)
• Appliance installation (ovens, microwave, refrigerator (?)
• Patching of floors with the new flooring our lead carpenter tracked down (if it arrives)
• And possibly (with bated breathe and eternal optimism) the countertops!

For the last item, it is with nothing but optimism that the countertops might be ready for installation by Friday. Since we really have no reason not to be optimistic, we'll take the optimistic approach knowing it could well be week 9 before we see the countertops installed.

All that being said, the Mrs. is not going to be around this week to update the blog.  Hopefully the Mister will be able to take some pictures that she can use for some updates, but expect longer posts toward the end of the week rather than as the week progresses.
