One of the ways we opted to save a little pocket change (and when I say little, I mean VERY little) was for us to paint the outside of the house rather than having the contractor do this. In an effort to work smarter not harder, I asked the construction lead if I could paint the boards before they hung them around the new window to make it a little easier on me. So he delivered them, and I set out to paint them this weekend. We took a piece of the board which had been removed from the house when the window was installed to Sherwin Williams to have them paint match it since the house had faded in color quite a bit from when it was originally built. I am happy with the job they did and I think by the end of Summer, you wont' be able to tell the new boards from the old.
