Well, we're reached an unexciting phase. First up tape for the seams. Then mud, sand, repeat. However, all the boring stages are required so that the finished product is the best it can be.
The tape is on and the first coat of mud over the tape.
A new wall meets an old wall. And ugh, can you see the ridiculousness that is knock down? Seriously, the most annoying thing ever invented and the whole house is covered in it from ceiling to baseboards, except....
...the new kitchen will have a smooth finish. This makes me happier than it should. But after painting 3 rooms and having to tape off the bumpiness of knockdown walls/ceilings, I am overjoyed to be able to have one room in this house that is knock down free. And if I'm happy, rumor has it The Mister is happy.
Mudding over the screws will be up next in the process of covering the walls with healthy material to make the kitchen a fabulous space in the end.
Lots of boxes of joint compound waiting to be used.
